From the moment you start up the game and choose your ride, you’ll be ready to hit the open road. I opted for a sleek sports car to start since I wanted something nimble to zip around in.
The map is staggeringly huge, covering the entire continental United States. It’s easy to get distracted pulling over every few minutes just to admire the scenery as you pass rolling hills and sweeping countryside. Once you complete the introductory tutorial missions, you have complete freedom to roam wherever you want across the country. Whether you want to race down the Pacific Coast Highway with the ocean on your left or cruise through historic downtown streets, the choice is yours.
Of course, the real fun is in pushing your ride to its limits by taking on the many competitive motorsport events available like street and pro racing, off-roading, stunt driving and more. I spent hours perfecting my skills competing in circuit races around iconic American landmarks. Zipping neck and neck through tight city streets with other drivers jockeying for position is a thrill. When I needed a change of pace, I’d swap to a monster truck to bash through dirt trails and leap over hills in off-road competitions.
You can also team up with other players online to take on bigger challenges, like multi-stage racing events that span entire states. It’s a blast to coordinate strategies and drafting techniques with your crew.
